MACBA, Museum of Contemporary Art Barcelona
El Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Barcelona ocupa el impresionante edificio del arquitecto norteamericano Richard Meier en la plaza de los Ángeles, en el Raval. Quiere transmitir el arte contemporáneo, ofrecer una multiplicidad de visiones y generar debates críticos sobre el arte y la cultura. La utilización del color blanco, complementada por el uso de claraboyas de vidrio y de materiales reflectantes, hace que el edificio disponga de una especial luminosidad. La obra de Meier está influenciada por los trabajos de Le Corbusier y hace una reinterpretación del racionalismo. En este proyecto se puede observar la combinación de espacios rectos con líneas curvas, donde la luz exterior juega un papel muy importante.
The Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art occupies the impressive building of American architect Richard Meier in the Plaza de los Angeles in the Raval. He wants to convey contemporary art, offering a multiplicity of visions and generate critical debates on art and culture. The use of white, complemented by the use of glass skylights and reflective materials, makes the building available a special light. Meier’s work is influenced by the work of Le Corbusier and makes a reinterpretation of rationalism. This project shows the combination of straight lines with curved spaces where outdoor light plays a very important role.
Frente al MACBA, skaters de todos los orígenes, etnias y edades se juntan día tras día para competir contra sí mismos en una única canción echa de golpes, choques, gritos y risas que empiezan por la mañana y acaban por la noche. Al caer el sol, el ruido de las latas que se abren y los cristales que se rompen las sustituyen.
A través del primer piso del museo, podemos acceder a una gran terraza que da a la parte exterior, por encima de la entrada. Es como si estuviéramos en el palco de un gran espectáculo.
In front of the MACBA, skaters from all backgrounds, ethnicities and ages gather day after day to compete against themselves in a single song misses hits, crashes, shouts and laughter starting in the morning and end at night. At sunset, the sound of opening cans and glass breaking replace them.
Through the first floor of the museum, we can access a large terrace overlooking the outside, above the entrance. It is as if we were on the stage of a great show.
Hasta hace pocos días podíamos ver la exposición dedicada al fotógrafo Xavier Miserachs. Si no la pudisteis visitar, 0s muestro unas cuantas imágenes de este genial fotógrafo catalán. Esta expo estaba centrada en el fotolibro Barcelona, blanco y negro, proponia un viaje en el tiempo en el que las imágenes están dispuestas en forma de grandes murales, escaparates, ampliaciones y proyecciones, planteando nuevas maneras de ver y leer fotografías en el espacio expositivo.
La exposición Miserachs Barcelona parte de la idea de que los fotolibros permiten construir una historia propia de la fotografía, más cerca de la experiencia que del arte, y nos propone varias maneras de mirar y leer fotos en el espacio artístico huyendo del formato expositivo convencional.
Until a few days ago we can see the exhibition dedicated to the photographer Xavier Miserachs. If ye could not visit, 0s show you a few images of this great Catalan photographer. This expo was focused on the photobook Barcelona, black and white, proposed a trip back in time in which the images are arranged in the form of large murals, windows, extensions and projections, suggesting new ways of seeing and reading photographs in the exhibition space .
The exhibition Miserachs Barcelona part of the idea that photo books allow build their own history of photography, closer to the experience of art, and proposes several ways to look at and read photos on the artistic space fleeing the conventional exhibition format.
